The Big Four are Hiring!

"E&Y The firm hired 250 graduates last year and plans to take on 'slightly more' in its next recruitment drive later this year. It has a 1,700-strong workforce.

KPMG With over 1,600 staff on its books, it is hiring more than 200 new graduates - between 15 per cent and 20 per cent more than last year.

PwC The firm is looking to hire about 170, a similar number to last year's intake. It has 1,600 employees.

Deloitte & Touche It is raising its recruitment of fresh accountancy graduates by about 20 per cent from last year.
Its staff numbers have already risen from 1,200 last year to 1,400 now.

As in recent years, Deloitte, the smallest of the Big Four, is paying particularly generous bonuses. It has raised the amount by an average of 30 per cent, paying between two and 4.75 months in bonuses "

And they're all paying at least 4.75 months bonus for their workyear ending 30th June this year too. Arrgh. I want to get in.

Maximising your ROI at Pizza Hut

This post is catered at maximising one's return on investment at Pizza Hut's salad bar - the policy being that an individual is only entitled to one bowl of salad per visit. I know all of you out there are dulan about this(mai geh geh), but don't fret. Here's the solution. I'm not the one that came up with this though.

Top Five Computer Problems

I should have thought of making this into a blog post a long time ago. But I guess now's a good a time as any. Many of you probably already know this, but for those of you who don't, I've been fixing/troubleshooting people's PC problems for the past decade or so. And just when I think I've seen it all, something even more absurd pops up, the kind that would make me suffer a stroke at a young age of 25. Anyway, without further adue, I present to you the list of top 5 "stunning" computer problems.

1. I have ants in my laptop, is it ok if I cement repellent between the keyboard and the plate that protects the motherboard?

2. I have just bought game x/software y at a pirated shop, can you help me crack it?

3. I haven't been able to connect to the internet yesterday, why ah?
(2 hours later....)
Me: I called singnet, and they told me the password I've been trying for the last 2 hours was wrong.
X: Oops, I changed it with them yesterday.

4. My game won't run! (Friend then proceeds to eject the CD with the words "Playstation" written on it from his drive)

5. I've no sound.
Me: Did you mute it by accident?
Friend: oh.

"Shortaseasonophobia"

Oh yes, all Otakus have it. And as much as I'd like to deny, I have it too. Whenever new anime airs, I visit the anime news network just to see how many episodes are scheduled to screen for that season. And boy, does it suck to learn that good shows like Zero no Tsukaima only last 13 weeks.

So anyway, on a completely unrelated note, an arm-fractured friend of mine, having to stay at home and all, recently started downloading shows off isohunt to kill time. After countless sleepness nights, he recommended (recommended my ass, you practically shoved it down my throat) me "The Triangle"- A 2005 Sci-fi miniseries that involves a billionaire chartering the expertise of four individuals in different disciplines to solve the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. And of course there's 37-year old lao chio Catherine Bell.

To quote him, "Recommend this to all your friends, relatives, pets, co-workers...blah blah..people in your friendster, myspace, NS battalion...(you get the point)"

So you need an accountant you say?

From the Straits Times Interactive:

" AS MANY as 100 more listed companies may need to issue quarterly financial reports under new rules just approved by the Ministry of Finance.
The changes stemmed from a year-long look into the benefits of quarterly reporting by the Council on Corporate Disclosure and Governance - the body that sets accounting standards.
All of its recommendations have been accepted by the ministry, which has affirmed its commitment to quarterly reporting.
The main change involves which firms have to report every quarter. "

SO HIRE ME ! I'm efficient, funny, and I brighten up whatever small workspaces you have!
