A few days back, I got a ticket for parking w/o a valid season parking ticket; so I wrote in to appeal

Good day,
I bring your attention to the below mentioned parking offence
Parking offence Notice Number: ********
Vehicle Number: ********
Place of Offence: TP16
Parking Lot Number: 4
Date and Time of Offence: 23/04/2005, 8.57PM
Rule Infringed: Parking Place Rules(R2, Cap 214) Rule 18(1)
Parking without a valid season parking ticket

I was unaware that I was parking in a season parking spot as the area was poorly lighted and visibility was low, more ever, I thought the carpark had been changed to one which uses a cashcard parking system.

If it’s not too much trouble, could I have a reply as to whether I have to pay the fine of $50/-? Your reply within a week would be much appreciated. Any longer and I might have to go to jail.

Best regards.

Then came the reply,

We refer to your email of 23 April 2005.
2 Although this car park TP16 (Blks 183-185 Toa Payoh Central) is
implemented with the cashcard parking system using ERP-based technology, visitors to this car park are only allowed to park their vehicles at the parking lot painted in white.
3 The parking lots painted in red are strictly reserved for the season
parking only at all times including Sundays and Public Holidays. Signboards informing motorists of the above are also prominently displayed within the car park.
4 Nevertheless, we have considered your case. As this is the first
offence, we have decided to exercise flexibility for this occasion and waive the above the Parking Offence Notice issued. Please comply with the Parking Rules in future.
5 If you have further enquiries, please contact me or Parking Officer
Mr Jumarie Jumahat at telephone no. 65515663 (DID).

Yours sincerely
